Here at Rowan Creek Beef we plan on bringing about 12 animals a year to market. Because our cattle are so well handled, nothing gets hurried. Give us a shout and we can provide you with an approximate time of when the next animal should be ready. Please contact us as soon as possible, occasionally there can be a wait list as demand for our product is high. Cost for our Beef can vary seasonally, but as of summer 2019 our price is $2.75/lb hanging carcass weight. Plan on an average of around 200 pounds of take home meat per quarter cow.
Because we are very busy raising these beautiful bovines, we do not butcher animals at the farm, we leave that to the professionals. When the beef reaches the market, contact will be made with the butcher and they will have a few questions for you regarding cuts and packaging. The market will contact you when your beef is ready, and all you need to do is pick it up And enjoy! As of summer 2019, the butcher is getting around 60 cents per pound. Again, around 200 lbs per quarter is average.
